Drip marketing is basically a combination of old-fashioned sales letters and high-tech personalized messages. An email has proved itself to be a conversation driver. Thus, drip email marketing has become an important component of the content marketing strategy. In drip email marketing, you send several emails to people in target customer segments at certain intervals of time. People who have shown interest in your brand, are the recipients of such kinds of emails. The endpoint of a drip marketing campaign can be can either a sale or a request for consultation. Drip emails are automated emails, marketing automation, lifecycle emails, autoresponders, etc. The triggers in this include purchasing a product, engaging with a blog post, signing up for a service, or abandoning their shopping cart.

Drip campaigns allow you to stay connected with a particular type of audience and are quite effective as they allow you to send the right type of message at the right time. These messages are pre-written and are issued automatically and this means there is no manual input.

Here are a few cases where drip campaigns can be used –

  • Welcoming – When a user gets attracted to your website, encourage them to sign up for your newsletter, subscribe to your services, or take some other kind of action. The most important part is keeping your audience engaged with your brand. That is where drip email marketing comes into existence. After greeting your subscribers, you can provide them with the necessary information.
  • Educative drip emails – Your drip marketing copy needs to provide value to your subscribers. It needs to be sharp yet sincere. You need to give solutions to their pain points. Thus, it needs to be educative to them.
  • Cart abandoned email campaigns – There are users who add items to their cart but do not check out. An automated drip campaign can help re-engage your audiences. Follow-up reminders are an excellent way to increase sales.
  • Drip campaigns for cold leads – Leads are the people who are aware of your products and can make purchases. For this nurturing is very important. For cold leads drip campaigns may be highly effective.

Conclusion –

In the era of social media, sophisticated emails are still a great way to increase sales as it helps in providing a personalized experience.
