Microsoft will adjust your Microsoft account sign-in process starting in February 2023. Your Microsoft account will stay signed in after February unless you manually sign out or use private browsing. People need to understand this new feature in particular when they use public computers.
When you sign in to your Microsoft account you see a prompt to stay signed in which means you won’t need to log in when you return. You must use private browsing mode on public PCs or remember to sign out at the end of your session because Microsoft now signs you in automatically.
When you access public computers daily with your Outlook or Microsoft account you should adjust your practice to sign out or use private browsing for security. When you forget to sign out of your Microsoft account in February you can enforce your account to end its session across all platforms except Xbox consoles.
