So, when it comes to SMS marketing, everyone usually thinks of this kind of B2C business model that is used more often in marketing. Therefore, when we try to combine SMS marketing with B2B business stories, some people think that this is not a good idea, because this communication marketing channel is reserved for the business-to-customer industry.

However, they are wrong as the merchants who want to sell products to B2B companies are also customers! In essence, the B2B model is also a business-to-customer model, with only one difference-not “daily customers”, but “serious” business people in suits.

Now, let’s look at the ‘Why’ part of SMS Marketing in B2B.

Either way, looking at both the above cases, when you sell to repeat customers in your store or to business people in your company, you’re communicating and dealing with prospects. Therefore, SMS marketing, which is so popular and successful in building brand-customer relationships, can expand its reach and enter the world of business collaborations.

The reason why SMS marketing is so powerful is that SMS is the most popular and widely used mobile application. All mobile phones integrate the SMS function, which is always activated. You don’t have to install or configure them, and more importantly, SMS does not require the Internet to work. This means that anyone with a mobile phone can (read-almost anyone) send or receive SMS text messages. Not to mention that SMS is so easy to use, familiar, and very efficient. Also, compared with other marketing strategies, it is very cheap.

Thus, let’s understand how SMS Marketing is beneficial & useful for B2B companies:

B2B SMS marketing is a very effective way for you to establish high-quality contacts with business partners, keep in touch with employees, and communicate with B2B-oriented customers. In addition, SMS is an ideal communication tool to send appointment reminders, updates, notifications, messages, announcements, and to go further by sending offers, discount coupons, limited time offers or personalized greetings, etc. The possibilities are almost limitless, depending on your business goals.

The B2B SMS marketing strategy conveys VIP information about special events, conferences, product launches, or exclusive news to your best customers and first-known industry influencers, which will make the recipient feel special and closely related to your company.

SMS marketing methods need to adapt to slightly different rules that apply to the B2B ecosystem. SMS marketing needs to become more professional in terms of language, products, and the way you communicate your products. This does not mean you have to be rigid or boring. Please be careful not to use inappropriate slang or abbreviations that may make sense to ordinary customers.

Your recipients must feel that your SMS exclusive service provides them with added value in terms of information and discounts.

The mobile phone is the main device for all kinds of purposes such as surfing the Internet, shopping, entertainment, learning, and networking. If you want to succeed, you must own this marketing area. No other mobile tool/application can connect and convert people as quickly as text messages. When you start planning your B2B marketing strategy, keep this in mind.

Thus, evaluate the effectiveness of your marketing activities through SMS marketing. What to convert and what not to convert? Do you keep or cancel the subscriber? Answer these questions regularly to ensure the continued success of SMS marketing.
