What is Programmatic Advertising (PA)?

We will understand this in very simple words. PA is an automated system where you can easily buy and sell the space in advertisements.

As we can understand by the term ‘programmatic’, this is a well-designed, well-planned, well-executed and very systematic way of advertising.

Computer science + algorithm + technology + machine automation + machine learning = Programmatic Advertising

It is clear, that, aligning, combining, or linking these elements, forms programmatic advertising.

Now, the main question that emerges in everyone’s mind is how it works.

Let us slice it into points for better understanding. These bullets are as follows: –

  • Human Input

Just depending upon the machines and resting will not work. You (humans) are the one who commands machines to work. Machines are only to make your work easier, not to spoil you! So, hiring an eligible person to work upon these machines which include planning strategies, programming, creative stuff, data, etc.

  • Technology

Now, this is a typical, yet important factor to comprehend.

There are 2 types of programs mainly: –

Ones who provide you with a fully automated system and fully automated services and on the other hand, some programs provide you with a partially automated system that eases your workload and leaves the work that can be done by marketers.

It is really important to choose the right service and before that, you need to understand your needs first.

Because wrong programs in the wrong system at wrong times may not work.

  • Strategy

Is it possible to work without proper planning and strategy? Of course not!

Don’t get into this league without planning, aiming, targets and goals.

Understand your advertising needs, plan, navigate every possibility, then only choose your services wisely.

  • Data

This is a very much important factor that should be taken seriously.

Securing data, keeping the right data, and verifying data is very necessary. Overall, you should systematically manage the data and carefully also. Because once you lose data, this struggle and effort will drop to 0.

Advantages of Programmatic Advertising

  1. It saves your time as well as the time which is consumed is worth it.
  2. It expands your ad budget. Which gradually increases because of more sales. And sales can eventually increase because of good advertisement.
  3. It just increases your brand awareness. It is also a tool under brand awareness.
  4. Through PA, you ease your workload, which saves time to invest more in advertisements. It also helps users- users can find out easily through ads that it is relevant or not.
  5. Insights are very important because it shows you the reach. This feature is also automated in a PA. To know that your ad is reaching how many people and users or leads. Only when you get to know about your reach, you will improve your ads and work your campaigns accordingly.
