The Microsoft 365 (Office) app now called Microsoft 365 Copilot app for web, mobile (iOS, Android), and Windows. New app name and icon encapsulates the inclusion of Copilot in the Microsoft 365 app.
Our Microsoft 365 Copilot app is still your work-and-life productivity app of choice. But in the age of AI and Copilot, that isn’t really enough. We’ve made some commercial improvements to revolutionise the work experience and we will soon be bringing the revolution to consumers with user stories.
The app still represents your home for search, work, share and collaborate across apps, in one place with all your favourite productivity apps. This brand extension describes the other ways you can work with Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat to answer questions, create content, draft documents, and create agents with a work account.

What is changing?
The icon and title “Microsoft 365 Copilot” will be rolling out starting January 15th 2025.
Also, the web URL will be changed to m365.cloud. Microsoft to go with Microsoft’s general-purpose unified cloud. Microsoft domain for all the Microsoft 365 apps. Both office.com and microsoft365.com URLs will redirect.
Existing users won’t have to do anything?
Current employees who hold a work and/or personal account will see this adjustment on their web, mobile (iOS, Android) and Windows app on Jan. 15, 2025. If you are logged in but still have not noticed a change, ensure you are connected to the internet and restart the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
Does the Microsoft 365 Copilot app include Copilot functionality for all users?
For work accounts:
Copilot Chat is available to users with a Microsoft 365 license at no additional cost and users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
For personal accounts:
Copilot Chat in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app coming soon for Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers (primary account holders only). Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscribers won’t be able to use Copilot Chat. Find out more about Microsoft 365 subscription plans here.
What is the Microsoft 365 Copilot app and what is the standalone Microsoft Copilot app?

Where is Copilot missing?
In areas that do not have Copilot, the Microsoft 365 Copilot app will remove the Copilot tab from the home page of the web, desktop and mobile app endpoints. — but the app name and icon will be Microsoft 365 Copilot to keep branding consistent.
