The extended relationship increases search relevancy and decreases search abandonment among eCommerce consumers.
Today, at NRF which is one of the largest events in the retail industry, Lucidworks and Google Cloud announced a substantial extension of their cooperation. Lucidworks paired their Fusion technology with Google Cloud’s Retail Search (GCRS) service to enhance online product discovery. In particular, when paired with Google Cloud Retail Search, Lucidworks Fusion’s Deep Learning technology orchestrates Google Cloud’s search and shopper intelligence educated on queries and events to provide deeper relevance across the whole shopper journey.
“Lucidworks’ expanded partnership with Google Cloud unifies our best-in-class solutions to give eCommerce brands the solution they need to drive conversions and delight shoppers,” said Mike Sinoway, Lucidworks, CEO. “The combined solution allows retailers to tame growing assortments and respond deftly to consumers using more complex language when searching.”
According to data conducted by Google Cloud, search abandonment (when a consumer looks for a product on a retailer’s website but does not find it) costs retailers over $300 billion yearly in the United States alone. Almost two-thirds of shoppers indicated that the search feature is crucial to their customer experience. Forty percent of customers also indicated that they have a bad opinion of a retailer if their search does not yield the desired results. The brand’s reputation and the number of customers converted depend on a meaningful shopping experience.
Content, service and commerce operations comprise the total retail commerce trip. Google Cloud’s top product discovery solution is activated and unified by Lucidworks Fusion, which also contributes industry- and customer-specific knowledge. Using Google Cloud’s search capabilities in conjunction with Lucidworks’ Deep Learning technology and expertise working with hundreds of big retailers and B2B enterprises, users can optimize their entire relationship with Google Cloud.
“Providing a relevant and personalized shopper experience, regardless of channel, is an age-old industry-wide challenge that only gets more difficult as consumer expectations increase,” said Carrie Tharp, VP of Retail and Consumer Solutions at Google Cloud. “Lucidworks’ new Google Cloud Retail Search integration combines Fusion’s ability to customize and experiment with Google Cloud’s quality precision and semantic understanding to serve up the most relevant results and recommendations to shoppers.”
