SoftServe was honored for Open Eyes, a corporate fund established in 2014 to support humanitarian and defender support, infrastructure and recovery, education, healthcare, and cultural and environmental wellbeing. Open Eyes has achieved global participation and reach.
IT Pupil is an annual initiative by Open Eyes. It was recognized as the best pro bono work for a charitable, social or ethical cause. The two-month program for orphans and children from low-income households teaches basic IT technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. With an emphasis on English language skills, the course also teaches soft skills including leadership development, collaboration, self-start approaches and public speaking.
Since IT Pupil’s inception in 2017, the program has produced 70 graduates with IT skills and the confidence to build an independent, financially stable future. Several graduates have earned university degrees and even found careers at SoftServe.
