Skyhigh Security announced that the Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) evaluation of its Skyhigh Security Service Edge (SSE) portfolio has been completed at the PROTECTED security level. Skyhigh Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) was evaluated to the PROTECTED level in a prior evaluation that was completed in 2020, continuing Skyhigh Security’s progress within the federal government. The IRAP assessment gives public sector organizations reassurance that the sophisticated suite of data-aware cloud security technology from Skyhigh Security has appropriate and efficient security controls in place to manage extremely sensitive data and infrastructures for Australian government agencies.
The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is spearheading a program called IRAP to offer the Australian federal government top-notch ICT security assessment services. The Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), which offers cybersecurity guidelines and standards to assist Australian government enterprises in protecting their crucial data and systems, has documentation on the IRAP assessment procedure. Based on the results of this cloud security assessment, Skyhigh SSE has the necessary security measures in place to achieve the goals set by the Australian Cybersecurity Centre’s (ACSC) framework for cloud security assessment and authorization.
IRAP provides Skyhigh Security with a competitive edge in the Australian market by demonstrating the company’s dedication to security and readiness to submit its data-aware SSE technology to independent evaluations. With strong cloud capabilities supplied by Australian data centers, this evaluation enables government agencies to advance digital transformation programs and achieve enhanced citizen outcomes with confidence.
“The Skyhigh SSE portfolio combines multiple technologies to simplify and streamline cloud security across the web, the cloud, and private apps,” said Joel Camissar, VP of sales, Asia Pacific & Japan. “Through IRAP assessment, Australian government agencies can adopt vital unified data and threat protection at every control point to reduce risk and safeguard the transition of protected, classified data between systems—ensuring fast, reliable and safe access to cloud resources for users.”
The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), a U.S. government program that assesses cloud security suppliers based on a defined security framework for cloud goods and services, has also reviewed the Skyhigh SSE portfolio in addition to IRAP. Recently, the cloud-based Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway (SWG) received FedRAMP Moderate Authorization. Moreover, Skyhigh CASB received FedRAMP High Authorization in 2020 and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Provisional Authority to Operate at Impact Level 5 in 2022, demonstrating the distinct advantages of Skyhigh Security’s data-aware technology to governmental companies.
The Skyhigh SSE Portfolio, which is integrated into a comprehensive cloud platform, consists of Skyhigh SWG, Skyhigh CASB, Skyhigh Private Access, and other products. From a single, cloud-native enforcement point, it safeguards data and thwarts attacks in the cloud across all Software-as-a-Service applications, Infrastructure-as-a-Service environments, and Shadow IT. It provides enterprises with visibility and control over their data in the cloud, regardless of where it is located, as a cloud service. It offers a single Data Loss Prevention (DLP) engine, a single policy framework across all data exfiltration vectors, and multi-layered security technologies to cover all potential use cases in the Australian government environment. It also offers a single, user-friendly centralized management and reporting dashboard.
