AiFi, the most flexible AI platform enabling retailers to cost-effectively deploy autonomous shopping solutions, today announced that it has been named a 2022 RTIH Innovation Awards winner in the Payments Innovation category by the Retail Technology Innovation Hub (RTIH).
The winning project was a Compass Group United Kingdom & Ireland (UK&I) business implementing AiFi’s autonomous computer vision technology. The first fully frictionless store in the UK and the wider foodservice sector in Europe, the AiFi store allows shoppers to purchase items without having to wait in line or stop to scan or pay.
“Our partnership with Compass Group to deliver a seamless shopping experience has changed the game for the UK hospitality industry,” said Steve Carlin, CEO of AiFi. “We are honored to be recognized by an industry leader in retail technology for our AI-powered solution.”
In its fourth year, RTIH’s Innovation Awards celebrate global technical innovations in a fast-moving, omnichannel world. The award winners and highly recommended companies were announced across 14 categories during a sold-out event in central London on Tuesday 6 December. The event was sponsored by PMC, 3D Cloud by Marxent, CADS, FreedomPay and Critizr and was attended by retailers, technology suppliers, our jury members and sponsors.
“This award recognizes payment initiatives that are both innovative and customer and merchant friendly,” RTIH said on its announcement page. RTIH Editor Scott Thompson said, “Innovation and technology play a critical role in the success of the retail sector, so it’s great to recognize outstanding examples through our awards.”
