Converge, a leader in concrete material and operations optimization, and DEWALT, a leading provider of complete solutions for construction sites, today announced a strategic partnership to support the decarbonization of construction through Converge’s revolutionary AI-based platform, ConcreteDNA, which based on data from DEWALT’s new wireless concrete sensor. the DEWALT signal sensor. Concrete is one of the most used materials in the world, with a global production of over 10 billion tons per year. However, the manufacturing process of concrete is very energy-intensive and accounts for up to 8%* of all man-made CO2 emissions.

ConcreteDNA interprets real-time data from the DEWALT signal sensor, allowing users to monitor the compressive strength growth of concrete and, through advanced AI and local weather data, predict when it will reach critical strength. This allows concrete professionals to start work sooner as users can directly measure curing rather than relying on estimates and also tailor the exact amount of cement needed in the mix, helping to reduce unnecessary carbon emissions to reduce.

With a deep insight into the strength of the material, lower grade carbon concrete mixes can be produced without compromising performance or safety to meet job site deadlines.

“We are extremely excited to partner with global toolmaker DEWALT to address one of the greatest challenges facing the construction industry and the planet today,” said Raphael Scheps, CEO of Converge. “We believe that by working together, we can bring a suite of innovative solutions to North America that enable contractors to build up to 30% faster and drive the decarbonization of concrete to build the future more efficiently, safely and sustainably.”

“At Stanley Black and Decker, we are committed to sustainability and innovation across jobsites and industries to modernize work for the next generation,” said Deb Geyer, Chief Responsibility Officer, Stanley Black and Decker. “By partnering with Converge, DEWALT is helping to address the challenge of decarbonising concrete and providing a total solution to the DEWALT concrete tool ecosystem.”
