Elektrobit made the announcement today that its industry-leading essential software, EB tresos 9, is now immediately available. This new software version enables automakers and suppliers to develop electronic control units (ECUs) of the next generation based on the most recent version of the AUTOSAR standard. The upgrade provides complete support for AUTOSAR R20-11. It includes the industry-leading onboard intrusion-detection features found in Argus CAN IDPS, created by CES 2023 Innovation Award winner Argus Cyber Security.

By 2027, analysts predict that 80% of manufacturing cars will have electronic control units (ECUs) based on AUTOSAR fundamental software. By adhering to the AUTOSAR standard, OEMs and Tier 1s will be able to cut down on development expenses and shorten the duration of the process thanks to EB tresos 9.

ISO/SAE 21434 for cyber security risk management and SAE J1979-2 for onboard emissions diagnostics will be required in the United States beginning in 2027; EB tresos 9 facilitates the development of software modules that adhere to these and other standards. Traffic is monitored, threats and abnormalities are identified, and protections against popular attack techniques like DoS and brute force are provided. Regarding upgrading ECUs in-car, EB tresos 9 is also compliant with the AUTOSAR-specified standards for firmware updates.

According to Michael Robertson, vice president of global product management and strategy at Elektrobit, “with EB tresos 9 we’ve added the latest AUTOSAR compliance requirements, coupled with best-in-class security, making it easier for our customers to build the complex automotive operating systems (OSes) that will control and define all systems in their next-generation vehicles.” Since EB tresos 9 is pre-packaged and reusable, new software features may be developed for more cars in less time.

When combined with the rest of Elektrobit’s software and engineering services, EB tresos 9 is a one-stop shop for automakers looking to develop their automotive OS. These unified software platforms will manage all systems in the cars of the future. For almost 30 years, Elektrobit has been at the forefront of the automobile industry, providing the most advanced and dependable fundamental software.

The EB tresos product line will continue to be supported by Elektrobit with new upgrades as the AUTOSAR standard evolves. In addition, the EB tresos 9 roadmaps have a new, cutting-edge graphical user interface to make it simpler and more intuitive to use, as well as measures for a greater degree of automation to save costs and enhance the development efficiency of teams.
