Relativity and Deloitte announced today that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has deployed the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorized SaaS platform RelativityOne Government as a cloud solution for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Relativity, a global legal tech company, helped facilitate the agency’s migration to RelativityOne Government with the support of Deloitte, a market-leading provider of litigation support and e-discovery services. This move to RelativityOne Government provides the EPO with the security, flexibility, and extensibility of the AI-powered cloud-based data discovery product.
“Our advanced AI capabilities allow EPA teams to spend less time trawling through mountains of data and more time collaborating and gleaning insights from analytics,” said Doug Cowan, managing director, of government sales at Relativity. “The EPA is able to use the information to provide guidance on its litigation or FOIA requests, in addition to the litigation and eDiscovery matters it already uses RelativityOne Government for. We look forward to seeing what the EPA does, will be successful with a platform built exclusively for the cloud, and hopes they will encourage other US government agencies that are adopting SaaS solutions for their eDiscovery – Consider work.”
The EPA processes thousands of FOIA requests per year. The intuitive RelativityOne Government solution provides the EPO with the flexibility and speed to process this large volume of FOIA requests and securely and accurately handle litigation and investigations of varying scopes. The solution creates a consistent and repeatable approach that enables lower costs, reduced risk, and increased efficiency in the agency’s processes.
“Deloitte’s experience in supporting one of the first agencies to move to RelativityOne Government adds to Deloitte’s rich and diverse history of helping clients leverage innovative technology to achieve their goals,” said Chris Knox, Advisory Managing Director, Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP and Head of Deloitte’s Government and Public Sector Discovery practice. He added, “Our extensive knowledge of designing, planning, and driving migration to the cloud and Relativity’s commitment to building a secure and scalable platform for the public sector were key factors in the successful deployment of the EPA.”
RelativityOne Government enables the EPA to respond to government matters of increasing complexity, demand, unpredictability, and sensitivity. Data-driven insights and related decision-making in the public sector have grown exponentially, and RelativityOne Government is helping government agencies identify relevant documents, personally identifiable information, and privileged data more securely and efficiently.
